Terms of use

Last updated October 27, 2026.

These terms apply when you use sumtrue.com. SumTrue ("we", "us") runs the site; you can reach us at hello@sumtrue.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What SumTrue is

SumTrue offers free calculators and articles about working hours, overtime, pay and related rules. There are no accounts and no paid features.

2. Not advice

The calculators give estimates for general information. They are not legal, tax or payroll advice, and using them does not create a lawyer-client, accountant-client or any other professional relationship. Your actual pay and tax depend on facts and rules a calculator cannot see. Read the full Disclaimer before relying on a result.

3. Using the site

You may use the calculators and read the pages for personal or work purposes, free of charge. Please do not:

  • copy or republish our pages, text or calculators in bulk, or present them as your own;
  • scrape the site with automated tools at a rate that slows it for other visitors;
  • try to break, overload or get around the site's security;
  • use the site for anything unlawful.

Quoting a short passage with a link back to the page is welcome.

4. Our content

The text, calculators, code and design of SumTrue belong to us unless a page says otherwise. Laws, regulations and government publications that we quote or link belong to the public record, and we claim no rights in them. Product and company names mentioned on the site belong to their owners and are used only to describe or compare.

Pages link to official sources such as the U.S. Department of Labor, state labor departments and the IRS, and may later link to products. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. If a link earns us money, it is labeled as described on the Affiliate and ad disclosure page.

6. Accuracy and availability

We check every rule against its official source and test every calculator against worked examples, as described on the Methodology page. Even so, laws change and mistakes happen. The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without any promise that it is error-free, up to date for your situation, or always online. If you find a mistake, please tell us at hello@sumtrue.com.

7. Limit of our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using or relying on the site, including underpaid or overpaid wages, tax owed, penalties, or lost profits. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under consumer law that cannot be waived by agreement.

8. Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the version in force when you use the site is the one that applies. If a court decides that one part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

9. Law that applies

These terms do not pick a country's or state's law, or a court, for disputes. If a dispute arises, the law and the court are decided by the usual legal rules of the place where it is heard. If you use SumTrue as a consumer, you keep every protection that the law of the country or US state where you live gives you and that cannot be given up by agreement, and nothing in these terms takes that away.
